Infant/Toddler Teachers Needed

Discovery Zone is hiring for full-time infant/toddler teachers! If you have at least 30 college hours in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field and at least 6 months of experience in a certified center, we would love to hear from you! An Associate’s degree is preferred. Health benefits, PTO, and paid holidays are provided. All teachers are responsible for providing a caring, flexible, family-oriented, and a loving environment for children within our Reggio-inspired and play-based center.

Daily duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Create daily lesson plans for a week that provide children with a variety of activities and experiences to choose from in the following categories:
  • Creative expression through the arts;
  • Dramatic Play;
  • Gross motor development;
  • Fine motor development;
  • Music and movement;
  • Opportunities to speak and listen;
  • Concept development;
  • Appropriate sensory play; and
  • A supervised nap or rest period
  • Submit daily lesson plans a week in advance to director and the appropriate Head Teacher.
  • Follow written daily program of activities.
  • Provide a balance of active and quiet activities, individual and group activities, and opportunities for free choice by children.
  • Provide positive learning experiences appropriate to the individual developmental needs of children in care.
  • Provide daily indoor and outdoor activities in which the children use both large and small motor skills.
  • Provide opportunities to help each child develop a relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Conduct at least two developmental evaluations a year for each child.
  • Guide the Teacher’s Aide in your class and encourage them.
  • Train the Teacher’s Aide in your class to know all of the rules and forms of discipline and guidance.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with and among students, parents, Center staff, church staff and church family.
  • Supervise classroom activities
  • Inform the director of any ill child.
  • Maintain a current First Aid and CPR card as well as a Food Handler’s Certificate.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
