My Role at Discovery Zone

I began working at Discovery Zone in July 2016 and am a transition teacher.

My Background & Family

Hello, my name is Becki Webber. I was born in Oregon but moved to California with my family when I was a child so my mother could take care of her aging parents. After my grandparents’ passing, we returned to Oregon. I have an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and have been working with children since 2001. I’ve worked with all ages, birth through age 12, but my heart is with the 3-4 year olds – the age group I’ve been with for over 7 years now. Both my grandfather and my uncle are pastors so I grew up attending church and accepted Christ as my Savior at a fairly young age. As I got older I was a member of the youth choir and eventually helped with various community outreach programs. I firmly believe that Christ knows what is best for me and I strive to trust completely in Him and follow the path He has for me. I also believe that He places each and every child in my class for a reason and that each child is uniquely special.

Why I Work With Kids

I love working with children and watching their faces light up and seeing the joy in them when they make a discovery for themselves the first time! Biting my tongue and watching a child try to figure something out; seeing them not give up, try solutions, and take the time to think it out in their own way before they suddenly get it! That’s one of the best moments the classroom; along with all the hugs, great conversations, and all the quiet, and often times noisy, moments spent together getting to know each other and trying to figure out the world around us.

My Favorite Bible Verse

“Perhaps you were born for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
