My Role at Discovery Zone

I am the K23 teacher's aide and have been working at Discovery Zone since June 2018.

My Background & Family

Hello! My name is Hannah Free and I come from the tiny town of Cave Junction, Oregon. Not much to do there, but that was okay because it's where I met my husband, Josh. We were high school sweethearts, so when my family moved to McMinnville in 2014 he followed and got a job at the steel mill. After a 2 year engagement we finally got married in July 2016 and we became homeowners in October 2017! No kids for us yet, just an extremely spoiled Old English Bulldog named Gracie.

Why I Work With Kids

Children are always a blessing. They are filled with such joy and laughter. I have 9 nieces and nephews, which is where I think my love for children stems from. I love getting to work with and watch children discover and learn new things. I enjoy being a part of their lives and getting to teach them about God; showing them compassion and love just as He shows us. Being a Teacher's Assistant here at Discovery Zone is my first official job working with children. I babysat and was a nanny for years, as well as took classes in high school that gave me an opportunity to go work with the preschool twice a week. That's when I decided I would love to work with small children as a career. It took a lot of prayer, but I finally found DZ and I’ve known since day one that this is where I'm supposed to be. Getting to work, teach, play, and be inspired by these children and women I work with every day is such a blessing. My journey working here has just begun, but I know that this is my gift and I look so forward to seeing where it will take me!
