My Role at Discovery Zone
I am the K22 teacher along with Hannah Hoff and I have been working at Discovery Zone since March 2014.
My Background & Family
I have lived in Lafayette, Oregon for many years now, however, when I was very young I lived in Harper, Oregon and then Melba, Idaho. My mom homeschooled my 3 siblings and I; 2 sisters and 1 brother. My only public education experiences were taking choir and college level math at McMinnville High School. I then went on to earn an associate’s degree of general studies at Chemeketa Community College. The most important thing that I have learned about in my life is the love of Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior. My dad was raised in a Christian home and my mom and him followed that example. I’ve been learning about God through devotions with my parents and through the local church all my life. I made a personal commitment to Christ when I was young and He is not only my Savior, He is also my friend.
Why I Work With Kids
The love that
God has for me is what inspires me to love and take care of children. My
first job was actually babysitting some twins with my older sister when I was
just 10 and I have taken care of children off and on ever since then. My
favorite thing about teaching is that I can literally watch the
children learn and it is my pleasure to have been watching over and guiding the
little ones since spring of 2014 at Discovery Zone.
My Favorite Bible Verse
“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” Psalms 23:4
““For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”” Jeremiah 29:11
“I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me.” John 15:15
